Online work marketplace Upwork (NASDAQ:UPWK) reported revenue ahead of Wall Street’s expectations in Q4 CY2024, with sales up 4.1% year on year to $191.5 million. The company expects next quarter’s revenue to be around $188.5 million, coming in 2.9% above analysts’ estimates. Its non-GAAP profit of $1.03 per share was significantly above analysts’ consensus estimates.
Aerospace and defense company Curtiss-Wright (NYSE:CW) reported Q4 CY2024 results exceeding the market’s revenue expectations, with sales up 4.9% year on year to $824.3 million. The company’s full-year revenue guidance of $3.36 billion at the midpoint came in 1.7% above analysts’ estimates. Its GAAP profit of $3.09 per share was 2.6% above analysts’ consensus estimates.
Reddit reported fourth-quarter earnings that topped analysts' estimates, but its user growth fell short, sending shares lower in extended trading Wednesday.
Contract logistics company GXO (NYSE:GXO) reported Q4 CY2024 results topping the market’s revenue expectations, with sales up 25.5% year on year to $3.25 billion. Its non-GAAP profit of $1 per share was 5.8% above analysts’ consensus estimates.
Investors banking on the recent decline in U.S. bond yields and the dollar underpinning a rally across risk assets got a stark reminder in the shape of punchy U.S. inflation on Wednesday that interest rates won't be coming down any time soon. In fact, they got a few reminders - Fed Chair Jerome Powell repeated his view that monetary policy must remain restrictive for now, and House Republicans unveiled a fiscal plan that would cut taxes by about $4.5 trillion over a decade and raise the federal debt ceiling by $4 trillion. Faced with sticky inflation, fiscal largesse and Powell's confidence in the U.S. economy, rates markets are now only pricing in one Fed rate cut this year, which would leave the fed funds rate above 4.00%.
Biotech company 10x Genomics (NASDAQ:TXG) reported Q4 CY2024 results beating Wall Street’s revenue expectations, but sales fell by 10.3% year on year to $165 million. On the other hand, the company’s full-year revenue guidance of $620 million at the midpoint came in 1.6% below analysts’ estimates. Its GAAP loss of $0.40 per share was 34.4% below analysts’ consensus estimates.
Chicken producer Pilgrim’s Pride (NASDAQ:PPC) fell short of the market’s revenue expectations in Q4 CY2024, with sales falling 3.5% year on year to $4.37 billion. Its non-GAAP profit of $1.35 per share was 16.9% above analysts’ consensus estimates.
The S&P 500 dropped 0.3% on Wednesday, Feb. 12, as hotter-than-expected inflation data in the January CPI report weighed on the interest rate outlook.
